The usage of the El Dorado chapters is to show that money doesnt buy you merriment. in that respect is no such thing as a immaculate partnership. What we all believe will bring us happiness will actually bring us anguish in the end. When you pay man everything he thinks he wants, he contiguous realizes material wealth will never make universe happy. The real problem with Candide and Cacambos adventure into this utopian nine is that when they are presented with wealth in a context where wealth is non-existent, they realize that money has no purpose in a stainless world. Only when wealth is watchn outside of this perfect world does it have any real value. A society like El Dorado doesnt exist because even if you give man everything he will always want more. avaritia is the often the culprit that eventually will bring demise.

In the story of Candide, the editors state that, The real problem, Candide suggests, is not natural or pitying adventure as much as human complacency (376 Norton). What he is saying is that we are not daunted by death anymore. When a natural disaster happens we see like we should do something about it. On the other great deal when war takes lives we reasonable feel it is natural and we are un-affected. In a sense we have become desensitized to horrible practices.
