This is a historical legislation because it did not allow for separatism in the US schools and public places. Before this only the fourteenth amendment to the Constitution provided some protection. The bill for this law had been introduced by death chair John F. Kennedy in his civil rights speech in 1963 where he asked for a law that gave all Americans the right to be served in facilities that are open to public. The above discussed legislation has been effective in reducing secretion based on color, race, sex, national commencement and religion (Cheeseman, 2007). The employers are now obliged to make certain that they do not discriminate against any employee based on color, race, sex, national origin or religion. Otherwise a bursting charge can be lodged with the Equal Employment Opportunities Commission (Cheeseman, 2007). Title VII only applies to employers who employ 15 or much workers, however, the membership of a union is not necessary nor does a membership of a union disables a person from register charges (Cheeseman, 2007).




The Pregnancy unlikeness Act
The historical background of The Pregnancy Discrimination Act is that it is an amendment to the Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 (Cheeseman, 2007). It prohibits discrimination on the basis of pregnancy, childbirth or related conditions. In other words, women who are affected by pregnancy must be treated at par with other employees or applicants for a side of meat. The Pregnancy Discrimination Act disallows employers from refusing a position to a woman because she is pregnant if she is able to perform her study job functions (Cheeseman, 2007).
